1uzTech 1992 Lexus SC400

This car started the obsession with SC400's and 1UZ back in 2008 when I purchased it for a daily driver. After several years of racing Hondas and breaking manual transmissions I knew I wanted to step it up and build the SC into my drag car.

Original Build 2010:

We fabricated a 25.5 Roll Cage, Turbo System with BorgWarner S475 Turbo, Sheetmetal Intake Manifold and TH400 Transmission Conversion we still sell today. For the engine we left the stock 130,000 mile 1UZ bottom end and upgraded only Cometic headgaskets, Kelford valvesprings and ARP headstuds. It's what we call our "Super Stock" engine package. The first ECU we ran was an Electramotive TEC3.  We were able to achieve 650 wheel horsepower in this configuration. The car retained its street car status with 15 gallon fuel cell, full interior, power windows and lights. Weight was over 3400lbs.

Then we built the Engine in 2012

Which is the same as our 1uzTech 1000 Engine Package:

1992 4.0L 1uz OEM Crankshaft. 8.5:1 Ross Pistons with Eagle Rods. Upsized 11mm ARP head studs and Cometic MLS gaskets. Kelford built us a set of  custom 272/272 turbo grind camshafts and supplied the valve springs.  1uzTech ported the cylinder head retaining the stock valves.

We also upgraded the turbo to a larger BorgWarner S476 billet 76mm turbo to allow us to make more power. We  were able to achieve right at 1000 wheel horsepower with the built engine and new turbo. We still had in place stock 200mm rear end and IRS suspension. ECU was changed out for AEM V2. Car still retained power windows and working lights. +3400lbs

2016-2020 ish

We decided we wanted to change the car from fun street car to a competetive Race car. We mini tubbed the rear wheel wells and modified rear subframe to hold a larger 230mm Nissan rear differential. Tubed some of the front end for weight reduction, then installed some actual racing shocks from Penske. We also switched to air-to-water intercooler intake manifold and smaller fuel cell. Most of the interior was removed for carbon fiber pieces.  We once agian swapped the ECU from AEM V2  to a more drag race oriented system Holley Dominator EFI. The car is currently configured to compete under the rules in "Maryland Performance Center Real Street"

Race weight is 3150lbs
